10. Classroom Discipline

EMS uses a school-wide discipline plan based on the elements of Capturing Kids Hearts. A consequence plan is also used at Emporia
Middle School in order to reinforce the school expectations of respect and responsibility as well as classroom social contracts. When
violations of the social contract or a minor behavior violation occur, students will be treated with respect and fairness. The following
steps will be followed:
1. Remind the student/class about following the social contract.
2. Students will be asked the CKH questions for redirection.
3. Classroom level consequence and/or phone contact with a parent
